“Frère André ambulance” in SAB
We are pleased to confirm the presence at our exhibition of Mr. Hervé Fortin and his extraordinary Lasalle 1930 ambulance. This kind of utility “Cadillac”, affordable for the time, was manufactured by GMC. But, well beyond its incredible and unique beauty, this vehicle has a heritage character INESTIMABLE for Quebec: It transported Frère André. Purchased directly from St Joseph’s Oratory, Mr. Fortin spent 5 years restoring it to its former glory when it was operated by Godin Ambulance Company and serving the humble porter of the Notre-Dame College.
This vehicle is presented to you thanks to the generosity of a local company: Shomali Inc.
